Real Madrid's Brazilian defender Marcelo has extended his contract for an additional two seasons, until June 30, 2020, according to the club's official website.
Assuming Marcelo fulfills his total five seasons with the team, he will leave Real when he is 32, after 14 seasons in the Meringues' jersey, Efe reported on Friday.
The South American joined Real on Novembeer 14, 2006, when he was only 18. He won a place in the starting line-up in the 2007-2008 season, from which he rarely departed ever since.
Marcelo has played with Real in 311 official matches, between La Liga, Copa del Rey, Spain Super Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Champions League and the Club World Cup.
In all those games he took 21 goals, 47 assists and 10 titles: three La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, two Spain Super Cups, and one in the Champions League, World Club Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
After Dani Carvajal, Marcelo is the second player to extend his contract with Real this week.
