Tenth seed Marco Fu upset former world number one Judd Trump 6-5 in the first round of the snooker Masters at the Alexandra Palace here.
Fu, the finalist in 2011, is competing the Masters for the first time since then for ranking out of the top 16 but the Hong Kong ace fought back twice to snatch the victory after four hours, Xinhua reported Monday.
The 36-year-old Fu will next face Ding Junhui or Shaun Murphy Thursday afternoon.
"It was a bit scrappy, but I played well in patches," said Fu, adding "I felt pretty good among the balls to win the final frame."
