Spanish La Liga club Valladolid have confirmed Juan Ignatio Martinez as their new first team coach.

Martinez has signed a two-year contract with the club where he replaces Miroslav Djukic, who announced he was leaving at the end of the recently finished season after two campaigns at the club. Djukic has been named as the successor to Ernesto Valverde at Valencia, reports Xinhua.

Martinez had been told by Levante that his contract would not be renewed despite two successful seasons with the Valencia-based side. In what has already been a summer of considerable movement on the managerial merry go round, former Mallorca boss Joaquin Caparros was named as Martinez's replacement at Levante.

Meanwhile, Berndt Schuster has taken over from new Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga and Valverde is the favourite to be named as the replacement for Marcelo Bielsa and makes a return to Athletic Club Bilbao this week.

Athletic Club and Real Madrid are the only two sides in La Liga who have yet to have a coach in place for next season and with Real Madrid only two weeks away from the start of pre-season training.

Meanwhile, the transfer market has slowed down slightly following a burst of activity at the end of last season, although some clubs are moving towards strengthening their squads for the coming campaign.

Sevilla are on the verge of signing Rumanian striker Rusescu, who is to undergo a medical check Tuesday. Rusescu could have the difficult task of replacing Alvaro Negredo, who is wanted by Atletico Madrid as a replacement for Rademal Falcao.

Meanwhile, Spain is hanging on the final destination of Malaga star Isco. The young midfielder, who is enjoying a magnificent European Under-21 competition currently, is certain to leave his current club with either Real Madrid or Manchester City as his likely destination.

Isco has said he will reveal his plans when the European Championship is over and with the final due to be played Tuesday, that means fans will not be kept waiting for long.
