'Masaan' will always be a special film for me: Richa Chadha (Movie Snippets)

Actress Richa Chadha says "Masaan" will always be special to her, as she evolved as a person with the movie.

"'Masaan' will always be a special film for me. It changed me as a person, and gave me a circle of friends that I not only adore but respect too," Richa said in a statement.

Produced by Drishyam Films, Phantom Films, Macassar Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, "Masaan" follows the stories of four people from a small town -- Varanasi -- and how they fit into moralities, and how pre-set notions of society change their life. The film also touches upon issues like caste stereotypes and premarital sex.

 

Richa is seen as Devi - a small-town girl fighting taboos around sex in "Masaan".

The film bagged two awards at the prestigious 68th Cannes International Film Festival. "Masaan" stars Sanjay Mishra, Vicky Kaushal, Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, Nikhil Sahni and Satya Kam among others.

The actress says she is glad she did the movie as "it also made me witness the moment of a lifetime, where we experienced a five-minute long standing ovation" at the Cannes Film Festival.

Ali's cricket bonding story with 'Happy Bhaag Jayegi' cast

Actor Ali Fazal used to get together with the cast of "Happy Bhag Jayegi" post wrap up and play cricket.

"I think it was a landmark. So many cricket enthusiasts in one crew. We played a proper match. We got jerseys made," Ali said in a statement.

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, "Happy Bhag Jayegi" is a cross-border comedy. It is the story of a girl who accidentally lands up across the border while escaping her own wedding. The movie features Abhay Deol, Diana Penty, Ali Fazal, Piyush Mishra and Momal Sheikh.

The actor shared that "there were fights and laughs and a lot of panting", adding that he plans to schedule another match with the crew soon.

The movie releases on August 19.

Ashish loves working with Anil Kapoor

Actor Ashish Vidyarthi says working with Anil Kapoor in TV series "24: Season 2" is like a walk to the past.

Ashish, who is known for his villainous roles, essays the role of a drug lord in the finite series, which airs on Colors channel.

Ashish along with actor Sikandar Kher used to often meet at Anil's residence to discuss the plot and rehearse their lines. The rehearsal sessions would generally turn into an informal chat session that would go on for hours together.

"Working with Anil always calls for fun times. It was an absolute delight to work with him again and it brought back so many old memories," Ashish said in a statement.

He added: "I really had an amazing time working on '24', the whole experience has been outstanding and I am glad that I choose to be a part of this. Anil still has the same kind of energy and it even motivates us to keep doing a great job."

Apart from the endless chat sessions, Anil and Ashish would also reminisce their good old days of working together and how they are glad to reunite after so many years.
