French tennis player Amelie Mauresmo has announced that she will quit as captain of the French women's tennis team because she is expecting her second child.
The 37-year-old explained at a press conference on Monday that she is going to leave the captaincy of France for personal reasons.
"I am expecting my second child in April," she explained.
The former Wimbledon and Australian Open champion succeeded former captain Nicolas Escude in July 2012.
The Frenchwoman was on the doorstep of giving her country their third victory in the Federation Cup final, but France lost to the Czech Republic 2-3 on Sunday.
