A Mercedes has remained gathering dust in the bowels of a multi-storey car park in Birmingham for three years and has racked up 14,235 pounds ($22,386) in parking fees, a media report said.
Local authorities have been asked to remove it from the Broadway Plaza after the owner of the car was not traced despite extensive efforts, the Mirror reported Sunday.
Police have found that the car was not stolen or involved in any crime.
It is still not known why it was simply left to gather dust in the Plaza basement.
APCOA Parking, which manages the multi-storey car park, found that the saloon was left unlocked, with the logbook inside revealing the driver's details.
All attempts to contact the Coventry owner have failed.

A police spokesman has said that officers would endeavour to find the owner of the abandoned car.
If that fails, the authorities will slap a notice on the vehicle warning it will be towed away in seven days.
