Luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz India Thursday launched its high-performance sports utility vehicle (SUV) ML 63 AMG priced at Rs.1.49 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
"The new ML 63 AMG sets new standards in terms of performance, exclusivity, efficiency and a superlative driving experience," said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
According to the company, the new vehicle is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine, which develops a peak output of 410 kW and maximum torque of 760 Nm.
"We believe India is ready for a performance oriented driving experience. We are thrilled to add yet another superlative driving experience - the ML 63 AMG in our performance luxury SUV range for India," said Mario Spitzner, director branding and marketing Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
The company added that to enhance efficiency, the AMG speedshift plus 7G-Tronic automatic transmission incorporates a fuel-economy converter coupled with a friction loss-minimised axle gears and an electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering to reduce fuel consumption.
The company also launched its 'AMG Performance Centre' in Delhi to enhance Mercedes-AMG growth strategy and offers unique experience to enthusiasts. The centre will also have a private lounge for driving enthusiasts.
