A MiG 21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed Friday in Rajasthan's Barmer district, an official said. The pilot ejected safely.
Defence spokesperson S.D. Goswami said that the crash took place near Sodiyar village around 9 a.m.
A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause behind the accident.
Goswami said the aircraft took off from Uttarlai air base on a routine flying training sortie.
There was no reported damage to civil life or property in the crash.
Goswami said a rescue team was rushed to the spot and the pilot has been brought to Jodhpur Army Hospital.
The condition of pilot was stable, Goswami said.
