A low-intensity earthquake hit Uttarakhand on Monday afternoon, officials said.
The tremors, felt mainly in Uttarkashi, created panic among the people. Many rushed out of their homes.
The intensity of the earthquake was 3 on the Richter Scale, said officials. Its depth was 10 km below the surface.
