An arrested Pakistani guerrilla and a police constable were killed and five other policemen injured in a mysterious explosion in their vehicle as they were returning here from a court in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore town on Saturday, police said.

The guerrilla identified as Wahid Noor Khan died and the six policemen - an assistant sub-inspector, four constables as well as the driver - were injured, a police officer said.

"Constable Abdul Majeed later succumbed to injuries in the hospital," the officer said.

Khan had been taken to the chief judicial magistrate court in Sopore from the central jail Srinagar and was being brought back when the blast occurred.
