A minor student of a government middle school in a Bihar village was found pregnant during a health check-up. She said a tea-seller has been sexually exploiting her for the last four months, police said Tuesday.

The Class 7 student of Narainya Middle School in Gopalganj district's Mirganj village was found pregnant during a health check-up Monday that shocked teachers and villagers, who have demanded stern action against the accused.

Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged in a women's police station. "I have ordered an investigation into the case and asked police to arrest the accused soon," he said.

Tea-seller Naresh Madesia has been untraced and on the run since the incident came to light Monday.

The victim's family is the poorest of the poor and her parents do odd work to earn livelihood.
