Russian Ambassador Alexander Kadakin Friday said he had been misquoted by a section of media, which Friday said that a miffed Russia may stop arms sales to India, in light of the latter looking to the US for defence technology and equipment purchases.
Kadakin said India and Russia shared a "confident, firm and stable cooperation" in the military field and that the relationship between the two countries was "shining as brightly as never before".
"We share with India more technology that we share with anyone else," Kadakin said, citing the technologies used for the recently launched BrahMos missile, fifth generation stealth fighter plane, and nuclear reactors as examples of assistance lent by Moscow to New Delhi.
He, however, said that what Russia did not like was "we are being put on the same platform as other countries", especially because of the deep ties and friendship which the two countries have shared over decades.
