The makers of upcoming investigative thriller "Missing On A Weekend" say that they are ready to wait till Monday for resolution of matters in their stand-off with the censor board or else they will approach the court for help.

The film, which was earlier slated to release on July 1, has got delayed as the censor board cleared the film with several cuts, on June 28.

"Getting suggested several cuts is just insane. So many cuts are just so unacceptable. I just don't understand what Pahlaj Nihalani and his team are doing. In Anurag Kashyap's recent film 'Raman Raghav 2.0', the police officer is doing drugs throughout the film, but the censors did not suggest any cuts for them, so why this kind of treatment for us?" producer-director Abhishek Jawkar told IANS.

Jawkar said he was also contacted by Goa Tourism which criticised him for portraying the state in a bad light. "I don't see the point behind the state coming into the picture. When a person does drugs, or smoking or alcohol, it is the person who is guilty and not the state. We have not shown the state of Goa in a poor light, Goa is just the setting of the incidents in the film."

He also added that the cuts have been suggested verbally and they don't have the list of cuts yet. The same trouble was faced by the recent film "Udta Punjab". The film, though, got support from numerous filmmakers in the country, who slammed the censor board. They subsequently approached the high court, who allowed its release with one cut.

"'Udta Punjab' approached the court and they could release the film, I am also hoping for the same with our film. We will wait till Monday, or else we are ready to approach the court to ensure the release of our film," Jawkar added.

"Missing On A Weekend", stars Pavan Malhotra and veteran singer Hariharan's son Karan in lead roles among others. The film is presented by The Red Bulb Studios and Adept Films.
