Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday bid farewell to US President Barack Obama who left India after a three-day visit.

"Farewell @WhiteHouse! Your visit has taken India-US ties to a new level and opened a new chapter. Wish you a safe journey," Modi said in a tweet.

"As for the rainy day yesterday, as you yourself said @WhiteHouse today morning, Bade Bade Deshon Mein...," Modi tweeted, followed by a smiley emoticon.

Modi was referring to a dialogue from Hindi movie "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", repeated by Obama during his speech at the Siri Fort auditorium Tuesday.
