Modi discusses economy, development with WB president

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday kicked off day two of his engagements in New York by meeting with World Bank president Jim Yong Kim.

"Discussions on development and economy with @WorldBank President Jim Yong Kim," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.

"On a day dedicated to development, PM @narendramodi begins engagements with @WorldBank President @JimKim_WBG," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.

Modi will also address the UN Summit for the adoption of the post-2015 development agenda.

He is slated to meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon at the United Nations.

Modi is to also hold several important bilateral meetings, including with the King of Jordan, the prime minister of Bhutan, the president of Sri Lanka, the prime minister of Sweden, the president of Egypt, the prime minister of Saint Lucia and the president of Cyprus, said an official statement.
