Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday remembered freedom fighter and educationist Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya on his birth anniversary.
"On Malaviya's birth anniversary, we remember with pride his long lasting contribution to our nation," Modi tweeted.
Modi also shared a picture of a letter written by Mahatma Gandhi to Malaviya, who was posthumously conferred Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in March this year.
Born on December 25, 1861 in Allahabad, Malaviya was a freedom fighter who later became a Congress party president. He established the Banaras Hindu University.
