Monaco breezed past Lille 4-1 in an away football match to move on top of the Ligue 1 table with three points clear of defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, who are currently on the fourth place.
Just 17 minutes into the game, Monaco went 2-0 up with Djibril Sidibe's opener and Adama Traore's close-range finish on Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Fabinho then added a third after interval with a thunderous finish and new signing Kamil Glik scored the fourth at the 71st minute. Julian Palmieri volleyed in a late goal for Lille, just a consolation for the hosts.
With the victory, Monaco, who beat PSG 3-1 in the last round of the French top flight league two weeks ago climbed on top with 10 points from four Ligue 1 games, extending their lead over PSG, who were tied 1-1 by Saint-Etienne with a stoppage leveller on Friday.
Bordeaux followed up the Principality side on the second place after handing Lyon their second straight defeat at home 3-1 on Saturday, while Guingamp were held 1-1 by visiting Montpeliier to be temporarily on third.
