A Tibetan monk was arrested in China's Sichuan province for carrying a portrait of spiritual leader the Dalai Lama but his whereabouts are not known since then, the CTA said Monday.
Lobsang Tempa, 19, was arrested after staging a solitary protest two days ago. He was peacefully protesting against the Chinese government, carrying a hand-drawn Tibetan national flag and a portrait of the Dalai Lama, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) said in a statement.
He has not been seen or heard since his arrest, the CTA added.
The Dalai Lama has lived in India since fleeing his homeland in 1959. The Tibetan exile administration is based here.
