Italian football club Fiorentina have sacked head coach Vincenzo Montella accusing him of a "lack of respect".
Montella still had two years on his contract when he was sacked on Sunday. The 40-year-old guided Fiorentina to the fourth position in Serie A this season.
He has been linked with rival Italian clubs Napoli and AC Milan.
"We would have expected to see the coach behave in a clearer, more respectful and less ambiguous manner," said a Fiorentina statement on Sunday.
Former Italy striker Montella was appointed by Fiorentina in 2012. Under his guidance the team finished fourth in Seri A in each of the three seasons he was in charge.
