Weather turned pleasant Monday morning after rain drenched the city.
The drizzle started around 4 a.m. Moderate to heavy rain lashed many parts of eastern UP and the state capital.
The rain came as a pleasant surprise as the mercury has been soaring unusually in the last two weeks.
The temperatures in the last fortnight have been hovering between 36.4 degrees celsius and 24 degrees.
This, Met officials say, is high for the month of March.
An official said the rain would occur in the day but later begin to recede.
