Russia plans to supply Iran with commercial airplanes in the future and the two countries will boost cooperation in the fields of aviation, shipbuilding, space industry and space service markets, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Tuesday.
"Everything is moving to the right direction," Xinhua quoted Iranian Vice President Sorena Sattari as saying, who is in Russia to attend the MAKS-2015 airshow on Tuesday.
Iran and Russia have been working on the possible delivery of Russia's S-300 anti-aircraft systems to Iran.
During his visit, Sattari was accompanied by Dmitry Rogozin, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the defence industry.
Sattari and Rogozin spent a few minutes in a simulated cockpit of the new MS-21 passenger jet. Rogozin also showed Sattari the jet fighters Su-35, Mig-29 and several future generation aircraft types.
On Wednesday, Sattari is scheduled to attend a meeting of the First Supreme Council on Iran-Russia Technology Cooperation. Besides, he also plans to visit several research institutes on aerospace industry.
The MAKS-2015 airshow is playing host to 150 companies from 23 foreign countries and over 580 companies from various regions of Russia, with over 400,000 people expected to attend the exhibition during the six-day event.
