At least three persons lost their lives and 22 others were injured on Wednesday as a motorbike bomb struck a bazaar in Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan, a provincial government spokesman said.
The explosion took place in Jani Khil district, spokesman Mohammad Rahman Ayaz said.
"A terrorist planted an explosive device into the cavities of a motorbike and detonated it in the bazaar of Jani Khil district today around 1 p.m., killing three persons on the spot and injuring 22 others," Ayaz told Xinhua news agency.
Some of the injured persons were in critical conditions, the official added. All the victims of the blast were civilians, he said.
The provincial government spokesman blamed the Taliban for the attack, but the armed outfit has yet to claim responsibility.
