The Union Cabinet on Wednesday alloted around 1.5 acres of land in the capital's diplomatic enclave to the Madhya Pradesh government for constructing its state guest house in the national capital, an official statement said.
The allotment of 1.478 acres of land on the T-Junction of Jesus and Mary Marg with Dr. Radhakrishnan Marg in Chanakyapuri area "will benefit the Madhya Pradesh government for construction of its State Guest House with all modern facilities keeping in view their present and future requirements", it said.
However, the state government would have to surrender 0.89 acres of land alloted to it at Gopinath Bardolai Marg in Chanakyapuri after completion of the construction of its guest house and would pay for the difference in the area at present rates, it added.
"The Madhya Pradesh government will not utilise this land for any purpose other than for construction of its State Guest House. While constructing the building, the Madhya Pradesh government will adhere to all existing building bye-laws, Master Plan norms," the statement said.
