During the two-day Global Investors' Summit, which concluded here on Sunday, investment proposals worth over Rs 5.5 lakh crore were received, said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Chief Minister said: "We have received 2,630 investment proposals and the companies have expressed their interest to invest a total of Rs 5,62,847 in Madhya Pradesh."
According to the proposals received by the state government, Aditya Birla Group would invest Rs 20,000 crore in various areas, Sintex Ltd Rs 2,000 crore, Proctor & Gamble Rs 1,100 crore and Mylan Labs has proposed Rs 700-crore investment.
According to informed sources, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas would install power generation units of 2,700MW capacity at an estimated cost of Rs 20,700 crore. This includes the Indian Oil Corporation's investment proposal of Rs 4,760 crore.
In addition, Lupin India has proposed Rs 380-crore investment, Essar Group Rs 4,500 crore, Hettich India Rs 400 crore, ITC Ltd Rs 600 crore, Mayur Uniquoters Ltd Rs 200 crore, Ajanta Pharma Rs 400 crore, Vardhman Rs 780 crore and Sagar Manufacturing has proposed Rs 965-crore investment, among others.
Speaking at the Summit, Chouhan announced that the next Global Investors' Summit would be held in the state in February 2019.
