Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday handed over the keys of a newly constructed house here in Ernakulam district to the mother of young Dalit woman Jisha who was found dead on April 28.
The 600 sq.ft. home, named 'Jisha Bhavan,' has been built at a cost of Rs 11 lakh with the help of the state government.
Rajeshwari, Jisha's mother, took the keys from Vijayan with tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Generally, it's a happy occasion when someone moves into a new home. But here, it's not so, as none can be happy after the brutal murder of Jisha. We all wish that no mother ever undergoes this sort of mental agony ever," said Vijayan.
After the Vijayan government took over on May 25, the promised government job to Jisha's sister also came through.
