Negotiators of the Myanmar government negotiators and ethnic armed groups resumed their peace talks in the capital on Tuesday to finalise a nationwide ceasefire accord.

The seventh round of peace talks between the Myanmar government's Union Peace-Making Work Committee (UPWC) and the 16 ethnic armed groups' Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT) will focus on the remaining eight main points out of the 104 originally put forward, Xinhua news agency reported.

The UPWC side is led by its Vice Chairman U Aung Min, while the NCCT side is headed by U Naing Han Tha.

The previous round of ceasefire talks was held in September 2014.
