The mystery surrounding the murder of a senior citizen, whose body was found inside his flat late Friday evening, has still not been unravelled, police said Saturday.
Harjeet Singh, 70, was found dead in his west Delhi Shivaji Enclave single room flat by a neighbour who informed police around 8 p.m.
"Singh's hands and legs were tied with a rope. No other external injury was found on his body. We are waiting for his postmortem report," said a police officer.
Police said it did not seem that the murderer had wanted to rob him because the room was not ransacked.
"Initial investigation revealed that Singh was killed by someone whom he knew well as there was a friendly entry inside his flat where he lived alone for over six years," said the officer.
The officer said five teams of different police stations have been formed to unravel the murder mystery.
