State-owned National Aluminium Company (Nalco) on Thursday posted a fall of 33.78 percent in its net profit at Rs.226.14 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.
The company's net profit during the corresponding quarter of 2014-15 stood at Rs.341.52 crore.
Its net income also declined by 8.95 percent at Rs.1,780.40 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs.1,955.34 crore during the July-September quarter of 2014.
Compared to the gross profit of Rs.539.15 crore in the year-ago quarter, Nalco posted a subdued gross profit at Rs.358.05 crore this year.
Tax expenses during the period under consideration also saw a fall of 33.25 percent.
