The construction of National Highways along the coastline of Odisha will start after availability of 90 per cent of the land, while the land acquisition process will start after the approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), parliament was told on Monday.
"Consultants were appointed for preparation of feasibility report and DPR. The preparation of DPR from Chatrapur (later extended to Gopalpur) to Ratanpur section has been assigned to Chaitanya Projects Consultancy Pvt. Ltd and from Ratanpur to Digha section has been assigned to Aarvee Associates Pvt Ltd," Minister of State for Road, Transport, Highways and Shipping Mansukh Lal Mandaviya told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
According to him, the consultants started preparation of DPR with effect from February 11, 2016.
"After preliminary survey, the proposed alignment of the said stretch was shared with the state government in a meeting held on September 3, 2016 to which they agreed in-principle. Subsequently, the same was approved in-principle by the competent authority of NHAI on November 24 November, 2016," said Mandaviya.
