NCC sailing expedition ends on a high

A sailing expedition which started from Farakka on June 6, was 'flagged-in at the Man-of-War Jetty at Prinsep Ghat by Lt. Gen. Vinod Vashisht, Director General, NCC Directorate of West Bengal & Sikkim, here on Friday.

Organised by 60 Naval Wing NCC cadets of West Bengal & Sikkim Directorate, the expedition was intended to inculcate a spirit of adventure and healthy competition among the cadets.

All cadets covered the distance of around 430 km and participated in various social service activities en route like 'Tree plantation', 'Swachh Bharat', 'Keep Ganga Clean', 'Save the Earth', 'Beti Bachao - Beti Padhao', and 'Digital Awareness Campaign'.

 

The cadets were accompanied by specialised instructor, Commander P.K. Manna, six other instructors, one lady ANO, medical assistant and support civilian staff in two safety boats.
