After three open house discussions and debates, the Indian telecom regulator feels it would be able to furnish its recommendations on net neutrality to the government within a month.

"I think today's discussion was very fruitful. This is the third in the series of discussions that we had on net neutrality. The kind of responses that we have got, the vibrancy in the open house discussion," R.S. Sharma, Chairman, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) told reporters after the open house discussion here on Wednesday.

"TRAI should be able to propose to the government appropriate recommendations , which they have asked for on the issue of net neutrality...should not take more than a month. There is a huge amount of literature and thoughts. It should not take more than a month," he added.

The watchdog along with industry stakeholders discussed the nuances of net neutrality for three hours.

He mentioned that though TRAI looks at all international experiences, but most importantly this whole concept should be guided by the Indian context.

"We are now going to decide the principles of net neutrality," he added.
