The formation of a new political party of Hindus in Kerala to lead the proposed third front would be announced on December 5, Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Sangom general secretary Vellapally Natesan said on Saturday.

"Why are other political parties, particularly the Communist Party of India-Marxist, anxious ever since I announced the formation of a new party of the Hindus. An official announcement will be made here on December 5 on the conclusion of our statewide yatra," the Hindu Ezhava leader told reporters.

"Muslims and Christians have their politial parties and no one has a problem. Hence, we decided to float one for the majority community. It will include Hindus from all sections, including Brahmins and the weaker sections," Natesan said.

On leftist leader V.S. Achuthanandan's threat to ensure both Natesan and his son were put behind bars for allegedly bungling micro-finance money, he said he was waiting for Achuthanandan to come out with evidence against him.

"If I and my son go to jail, I will ensure Achuthanandan and his son too are taken along, as I have enough material to nail them," said Natesan.

Replying to a query, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party would be part of the proposed third front in Kerala, which already has the Left Democratic Front and the Congress-led United Democratic Front.

The BJP is yet to open its account in the 140-member Kerala assembly.

The population of Hindus is 1.82 crore out of a total 3.34 crore people in Kerala.
