The Haryana government has again changed the power supply schedule for rural areas, an official said Friday.

The villages will get electricity supply for two hours during the day while the total number of hours of supply will be 11 as compared to 14 hours earlier.

This is the third time after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar took charge of Haryana Oct 26 that the schedule has been amended.

The villagers will now get electricity from 5.00 p.m. to 11 p.m., from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The Haryana government had Dec 10 announced changes in the electricity supply schedule for the rural and urban areas while keeping the number of hours of supply unchanged at 14 hours -- the same under the previous government.

The state government had Jan 2 cut power supply hours for rural areas from 14 hours to 11 hours allotting the three hours to industrial sector.

Chief Minister Khattar on Jan 6 said his government cannot ensure 24-hour electricity supply in the state in the present situation as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders prior to the assembly polls in October last year.
