New Zealand 93 for four at stumps on Day Four

Chasing a daunting 434-run target, New Zealand were 93 for four at stumps in their second innings on Day Four of the first cricket Test against India at the Green Park stadium here on Saturday.

The visitors need another 341 runs with six wickets and a day's play remaining.

Luke Ronchi and Mitchell Santner were at the crease with 38 and 8 runs, respectively.

Tom Latham (2), Martin Guptill (0), Kane Williamson (25) and Ross Taylor (17) were the batsmen to fall in the last session of the day.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets to become the fastest Indian to reach the 200-wicket mark.

 

Earlier, India declared their second innings at 377 for five at tea.

India: 318 and 377 for five (Murali Vijay 76, Cheteshwar Pujara 78, Ajinkya Rahane 40, Rohit Sharma 68 not out, Ravindra Jadeja 50 not out; Mitchell Santner 2/79, Ish Sodhi 2/99).

New Zealand: 262 and 93 for four.
