New Zealand bowling coach Shane Bond will quit after the World Cup Feb 14-March 29.

New Zealand Cricket's head of cricket Lindsay Crocker said Bond did not accept the contract extension that was offered to him.

He added he was disappointed but hopeful that the Black Caps would soon reap rewards for what the former pacer Bond taught them and that the board respected his decision, reports espncricinfo.com.

"Make no bones about this - we're very disappointed to be losing Shane," Crocker said.

"He's given great value to the Blackcaps programme and we were hopeful of having the benefit of his input over the next few seasons. However, we respect his decision and his reasons for making that decision, and wish him well in his endeavours post-World Cup," said Crocker.

Bond took up the role of the bowling coach in October 2012, two years after he retired from international cricket.
