The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday issued bailable warrants against seven builders for not responding to notices by the Agra Municipal Corp and file documents before the NGT to prove they were not releasing untreated sewage into river Yamuna.
The NGT order, on a petition by environmentalist D.K. Joshi, said the warrants will be executed by the concerned Station House Officer.
The NGT asked the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam and the irrigation department to clearly demarcate the flood-plains using 2010 as the base year.
"We direct the irrigation department (to) file the complete report of the physical demarcation of the flood plain on the Yamuna in relation to the year 2010."
