The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained three suspected IS terror outfit supporters from Indira Gandhi International Airport here on their arrival in India, an official said on Friday.
The three individuals identified as Sheikh Azhar-Al-Islam alias Abdul Sattar Sheikh, Mohammed Farhan alias Mohammed Rafiq Shaikh and Adnan Hussain alias Mohammad Hussain have been charged with criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
"The three suspected IS supporters landed at Delhi airport on Thursday. They have been summoned for questioning for their involvement in the case," said an NIA official, adding a decision regarding their arrest or otherwise will only be taken after completion of examination.
He further added that the trio suspects were allegedly involved in a conspiracy to identify, motivate and radicalise recruits and train Indian citizens located both in India and other friendly countries.
The official said that the suspects resided in a foreign country.
The officials of the anti-terror agency, however, were tight-lipped over a query whether the three suspects belong to any Indian state.
