Two policemen and seven Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Monday in a shoot-out in Turkey's Diyarbakir province.
Police were carrying out simultaneous raids on 17 houses suspected of harboring IS militants at around 3.00 a.m., Hurriyet Daily News reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said 12 IS militants were captured while five police officers were wounded during the raids.
The two policemen were killed after booby-traps around one of the houses exploded, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
Turkey has stepped up anti-terror operations against IS after a terror attack carried out by two suicide bombers killed 102 people in capital Ankara on October 10.
