Nithari serial killer Surinder Koli has told a special CBI court that he is suffering from severe ailments in Ghaziabad's Dasna jail and sought permission for treatment outside jail, which was granted.

Koli on Wednesday applied for outside treatment before Special judge CBI Pawan Kumar Tiwari, who granted him the permission.

In his application, Koli said he was suffering from acute fever because of malaria, typhoid, cough and other ailments and wanted permission to be treated outside the jail for proper diagnosis and better treatment.

Koli, who has been sentenced to death, was visibly suffering from severe fever and cough during his appearance in court. He was unable to sign on the papers and put his thumb impression instead.

In July this year, a CBI court had awarded death sentence to Moninder Singh Pandher and his aide, Surinder Koli, in one of the 16 cases of the macabre Nithari serial killings in 2005 and 2006.

The duo was arrested on December 29, 2006, after the discovery of bones and skulls of children and women from the backyard of Pandher's Sector 31 home in Noida's Nithari.
