The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog has proposed more attractive pay packages to get talented young professionals on board -- offering over 30 percent more than what its predecessor - the Planning Commission - offered,
NITI Aayog has offered salaries in the range of Rs.40,000-70,000 per month while inviting applications from "young professionals", along with annual increments of Rs.5,000 per month.
"A consolidated amount of Rs.40,000 per month, with a ceiling of Rs.70,000, inclusive of transport allowance. There shall be an annual increase of Rs.5,000, subject to satisfactory performance," the Aayog said in an employment notice on it website.
This is more than 30 percent increase over the salary package of Rs.31,500-51,500 offered by the erstwhile Planning Commission.
Moreover, the Aayog has reduced the age limit for such posts to 32 years, from 40 years prescribed earlier.

The Aayog has also advertised for a chief economist to conduct research on India's economic policy issues, as well as build contacts with other institutions.
The pay scale for the chief economist would be decided at the time of selection, depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate, the Aayog said.
Late last month, the Aayog advertised for hiring seven consultants as officers on special duty on a monthly remuneration of Rs.1.55 lakh each.
The consultants are required to be experts in economics and social issues, information technology, transportation, legal issues and engineering.
