Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Friday supported Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's opposition to the ordinance against disqualification of convicted lawmakers, terming his stand right.
"I support Rahul Gandhi as he has spoken and taken a right stand," he told media persons here.
Nitish Kumar said that the provision should have discussed and debated in the parliament before it is passed. "There was no need to bring an ordinance from the backdoor to protect convicted lawmakers from immediate disqualification," he said.
Gandhi Friday described his Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's decision to pass the ordinance as "wrong", and said it should be "torn up and thrown away".
