Former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will campaign for Om Prakash Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal in the Haryana assembly elections, a party leader said Friday.

The senior Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader will address 10 election rallies across Haryana Oct 11-12, said party national spokesperson K.C. Tyagi. Elections to the 90-member state assembly will be held Oct 15.

"Nitish Kumar along with former prime minister and JD-S (Janata Dal-Secular) leader Deve Gowda will address election rallies in support of INLD candidates," Tyagi told IANS over telephone.

Their campaign will focus on exposing the "double standards" of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its "hidden agenda", he said.

JD-U national president Sharad Yadav will also campaign for INLD in Haryana polls, added Tyagi.

Last month, the JD-U and INLD decided to go together in Haryana assembly polls to defeat the BJP. Yadav then said that it was an effort to unite the "distintegrated Janata Dal parivar", referring to the time they were part of one political outfit during the V.P Singh prime ministership (1989-90).

On Sep 5, JD-U leaders had attended a 'Samman' rally organised by INLD to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former deputy prime minister Chaudhary Devi Lal in Jind.
