Sony India said on Wednesday it had no plans for exclusive online sales of its smartphones to maintain its "market equilibrium" and to protect the interests of its offline and online traders.
"We don't plan to launch Smartphones exclusively for online sale at the moment so as to maintain market equilibrium and to protect the interest of our offline and online traders both.Currently, Sony India has a very robust channel of 10,000 dealers and distributors pan India for the smartphone category to cater to our customers," Mukesh Srivastava, head of product marketing at Xperia division, said in a statement to IANS.
He was responding to an IANS story earlier in the day quoting him as saying: "We are not looking to expand right now, nor are we opening any new store at the moment. We will consolidate our business at present."
