Brazilian champions Cruzeiro have denied receiving an offer from Manchester United for midfielder Everton Ribeiro.
The 24-year-old has caught the eye of European clubs for his sparkling form in the Campeonato Brasileiro this season.
But Cruzeiro's football director Alexandre Mattos denied reports of talks with Old Trafford officials over a January transfer, reported Xinhua.
"There are no offers, just speculation," Mattos told Globoesporte.
"Everton Ribeiro said he dreams of playing for Manchester United, then people started talking, and they said he would cost eight million Euros. That makes no sense.
"We have already turned down a 10 million-Euro offer for the percentage we own and that happened halfway through the season."
Mattos said the club would be willing to part with the playmaker if the price were right.
"Cruzeiro don't want to let any player go, (but) if an absurd offer for Everton Ribeiro or any other player comes, we have to sell," he said.
