It was business as usual for first division clubs as they overpowered their lower league rivals in the first round of the German Cup.

Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Freiburg, Mainz, Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg progressed into the next round of the DFB Cup with relative ease Saturday, reports Xinhua.

Bundesliga runners-up Dortmund encountered fourth division side Wilhelmshaven.

Dortmund won 3-0 thanks to goals from Kevin Grosskruetz, Marvin Ducksch and Robert Lewandowski.

Leverkusen went on a rampage as they eliminated fourth division team Lippstadt 6-1. Sidney Sam and Stefan Kiesling played a key role in the victory scoring a brace each.

Freiburg had to work a little against Neustrelitz but Hendrick Zuck's brace in overtime avoided any surprises.

Hoffenheim marched into the second round of the DFB Cup as they crushed fifth division side Aumund-Vegesack 9-0.

Elsewhere, fourth division team Fortuna Cologne lost 1-2 to Mainz and Wolfsburg defeated second division side Karlsruhe 3-1.
