The government on Tuesday termed the allegations by the Congress party of "undue favours" to Adani Group as "baseless" and said it has not quashed any proceedings against the group.
Highly placed sources in the government said it is factually incorrect that whenever a probe was initiated against Adani Enterprise Ltd (AEL), it was quashed by the government.
The Congress on Monday asked the Centre to strongly contest the Adani Group's plea in the Bombay High Court regarding an alleged Rs 29,000-crore scam of over-valuing coal imports.
The government sources said the allegation that government has not appointed a Special Prosecutor is baseless and devoid of facts and that it has solicited the services of Additional Solicitor General in the case.
