NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) roped in Japanese midfielder Katsumi Yusa on loan from Federation Cup champions Mohun Bagan for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2016 football tournament on Monday.
This is NorthEast's first international signing for the season.
On his first association with the ISL, Yusa said in a NEUFC release, "I'm really excited to be playing in the ISL and especially for NorthEast United. They have showed great faith in me and I will do my best to help them achieve their goals."
"I also cannot wait to play in front of the amazing NorthEast fans, and that excites me a lot."
Excited about the new addition, Bollywood actor John Abraham, owner, NEUFC said, "It feels amazing to welcome Katsumi Yusa to NorthEast United Football Club. I have personally followed his game in the past few years and am completely convinced he can make a difference in critical situations. I feel he will be the bridge between our Indian lads and the foreign players."
