Indian Army's Northern Command chief Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on Tuesday visited the Siachen Glacier to review the preparedness of troops at the world's highest battlefield, a defence spokesman said.
"The Army Commander was briefed on the operational preparedness and the current situation. The GOC-in-C interacted with troops at the Siachen Base Camp and complimented the tenacious resolve, unstinting commitment of the 'Siachen Warriors' deployed in extreme harsh weather and inhospitable terrain," said Defence Ministry spokesman, Col. Rajesh Kalia.
Singh had recently taken over as the Northern Command chief.
