Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who has flaunted Indian saris on global platforms, says she has been urged to endorse the handlooms of Madhya Pradesh, but nothing has been finalised as of now.
Earlier reports suggested that the National Film Award winner was approached by the state's cultural ministry to be the brand ambassador for its handlooms.
"Nothing has been decided so far." Vidya told IANS when asked about this.
"I had gone to Madhya Pradesh to promote my film 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'. They noticed my love for saris. They invited me for their exhibition in Mumbai which I attended and that's where they brought this thing up. They definitely offered me that, but that is is where the things are at this moment," she added.
In June, Vidya had inaugurated the Madhya Pradesh handicrafts and handloom sale here.
Vidya, who has proved her mettle in films like "Ishqiya", "No One Killed Jessica", "Kahaani", "Paa"; and "The Dirty Picture", has now featured in a music video for Nihar Naturals -- a brand she has endorsed for over five years.
The video aims to tell women to avoid letting people's judgment and acts affect them and is slated to release this week.
