In a first of its kind action, a schoolteacher in Bihar's Darbhanga district has been issued a notice for urinating at a public place, an official said on Wednesday.
Vijay Prakash Meena, an IAS probationar posted as the Block Development-cum-Sub Divisional Officer of Benipur block, has asked panchayat schoolteacher Serena Kumar to explain his act of urinating at a public place.
Kumar is a teacher at a primary school in Fauri panchayat of Benipur.
"A panchayat schoolteacher was issued a notice for urinating in the premises of the Benipur Sub Divisional Office, asking him to explain why he violated the sanitation rule at a public place," the official said.
According to him, soon after Meena joined Benipur, he had issued an order asking people to help administration maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the area.
